Ok so i have what i've seen as a common problem with the front grille on my Dynamic where the silver part between the outer frame and the black slats looks to be suffering from laquer peel
I've seen some posts where people have mentioned this but can't see if anyone has sorted it?

Does anyone know if this part pulls away from the grille which would make it easier to paint? it feels sort of loose but i didn't want to break it if it isn't meant to pull out.

It just looks poor so i want to get it sorted and thought it would be easier to remove and paint than mask up and i don't fancy taking the full bumper off to see behind

No it's plastic welded and needs a bumper off job. And even then it's a PITA!

Hello, had same problem, in the end I just masked up and went for it. Pics in my gallery.

Even oils from your hands needs to be removed from surface to be painted, wipe the surface with some lighter fuel (Shellite etc). Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

wipe the surface with some lighter fuel (Shellite etc)

Had the same problem on mine, the dealers painted it under warranty. Believe it or not the silver trim is already that colour prior to painting the bumper. LR NUT - did they have to remove the bumper and dismount the grille to paint or just mask it off?
I was thinking of getting a chipsaway type to do it but know they wouldn't mask everything up and i'd end up with overspray all over my freshly clayed car

i'm guessing your car was under 3 years old at the time? not sure if the 10 year (or 12?) paint warranty will cover it?

Got the same thing happening now on my 14 plate Dynamic.

I'm going to investigate getting it wrapped as an alternative to painting as its less invasive/PITA

Juice - would be great to see pics if you do get it wrapped, doesn't look too easy to do in 1 piece with the curves?
