Should This be happening? | |
I hope someone can shed some light on this problem please, it’s a bit long winded.
My car is an FL2 Manual SE TD4 2007 85000 Miles.
When driving at around 30mph there is a noticeable jerking movement in the car, this is even noticeable when rolling (in neutral) downhill at the same speed. It is more evident when carrying more passengers.
All wheel bearings have been replaced over the last four years. But I suspect these as they appear to be made of chocolate, and I have replaced six in the time I have had the car! There is however no noise from them, even when checking carefully with the car raised.
I inspected the rear end of the car today, with the car jacked up, handbrake off and in neutral. I did not fully understand the following.
When spinning the offside wheel the nearside wheel turned a little in the same direction and the prop didn’t move.
When spinning the nearside wheel the offside wheel and the prop shaft did not move at all.
Is this behaviour due to the haldex?
Could this be a CV joint failing?
The car unusually is showing no other faults.
