Where to find freelander rims

Hi all!

Just purchased a 2014 Freelander 2 and wanting to switch the 19" wheels that came with it to 18".

Can anyone recommend somewhere in or near Auckland who might have some suitable wheels and would trade or if there happens to be anyone who wants to swap that would be even better!

Tia,
. Alec

I have five 18 inch rims I'm keen to sell. Sydney isn't all that far ...

Its Not a silly idea, Sea freight is only ~$250 each way.

Ive found a few LR spares places who will do an unbalanced trade, all is not lost

Personally, I would go the whole hog, and UPGRADE to 17". I did exactly that for a smoother more positive secure comfortable ride. I'm nearly reaching 40k miles on a set of CrossContinental tyres, which includes fast European motorway together with lots of Alps and Pyrenees snowy crossings. NO punctures!

Paul! Shhh!
Why do you think I have 5 18 inch rims to sell?

Depending on what you're looking for Paul is right though. AT tyres are much more common in 17 inch than 18 (my dilemma, although Grabber AT3 are available). I haven't noticed much difference in road performance between 18 and 17 though, that'd be a function of the actual tyre I reckon.

Cheers

Hi Paul,

I've started considering that too! And yes you are right, any smaller size will be an upgrade, though I am fond of the spoke pattern of the 19's Cool hard to find equally attractive 17's

Well in a surprising turn of events I now have too much choice!

Turns out car yards trying to sell Freelanders are happy to do direct swaps since blingy wheels sell better!

The smaller the rim the cheaper the tyre is another advantage! The last time I was in NZ volcanoes were letting off steam. You have some pretty rough ground there, go for 17 inch if you can get them.

Wider side wall is more attractive than pointless rim design! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

That's true, I went for a six spoke XC90 rim. Just couldn't find 17 inch Freeo rims at a sensible price here

Haha yeah, ended up just buying them ($200ea from Stag4x4) because the only direct trades I could find were for the old style of 17"s which I'm not fond of.

...know anyone who wants to buy 5 super poodles?...๐Ÿ˜…

I paid $800 for one 18" rim so I would have 6 all up! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
