Replaced battery at Halfords today, drove 13 miles home then had a tradition reduced traction control warning. Before driving off from Halfords I used the icarsoft to reset the battery management system. Any ideas simple fix or more in depth?8

Use again that icarsoft to read the faults and post them here.

ok fault codes as follows:

B12E8 Liftgate tailgate control switch
All Terrain Control Module: U0121 Lost comms with ABS
Rear Diff Control Module : P1889 oil pressure pump performance and U0121 Lost comms with ABS

Cleared fault codes short drive then as above but All Terrain Control Module now showing U0437 invalid data

Battery I had halfords put in today was slightly larger than standard HSB 110 85ah CCA 800A
removed battery: HSB 096 80ah CCA760

I have checked the new battery voltage and it is fine just seems coincidental that shortly after fitting new battery Traction Reduced Fault appears? I intend to let the car sit and then reset the Battery Management system again, other ideas/thoughts most welcome

2013 63 Reg, Only had it since Sept 12th, not a good start, FSH to date.

Just been out and had another drive/look. Engine started, fault not there, terrain modes selectable drove 50 yards fault back on unable to select terrain modes.

Got back lifted bonnet Negative terminal is loose and appears to be a nut missing!!! (Halfords!!!) So I will address this first and try again. Vehicle is under warranty.

Do you have the subcode information? Meaning the two digits after the main fault code? P1889-XX
Normally you should check the integrity of the connections on the pressure sensor inside the Haldex unit and the RDCM (rear diff control module) earth connection.

Tightened new terminal that Halfords left loose fault still there. The icarsoft LR 2 I am using does not give any subcode on it, unless it is hidden somewhere

P1889-14 is a known issue...

Thanks Mikey, just going to be 100% on the battery side of things, charging spare overnight will fit in morning. If fault still evident then I will contact the warrenty company and see where they want me to take the vehicle.

I've seen 3 cars with this fault in the last month

New pump (and filter) has cured them all. Fingers crossed the warranty pays out

Did some work underneath today at same time check plugs and looms going to Haldex Coupling oil pump etc. No faults evident so reconnected. Fault had now gone away, 15 test drive and all 4wd modes working. So I am thinking get a Haldex service kit, drop it for service and at same time inspect all looming under the car, any other suggestions welcome

After a few phone calls, and a confirmed diagnosis the haldex coupling oil pump, filter and oil will be replaced by the main dealer. I will end up paying around 10% of the cost. So I am happy with the result
