Get a passenger and string through from front windows to wiper arms if you are ever really stuck

Check the relays. Someone on here had same sort of problem and turned out to be a relay. |

Not necessarily, for example my son's Skoda Fabia VRs suddenly died. The "AA " equivalent bloke said it was a "dead ECU and going to cost hundreds". He wanted to tow it to his nearest garage but I got it towed home and then to a local VAG independent That Id used before. Total cost was £45 for the fitting of a ECU power relay which was nice .
