Fitting Extra Speakers with New Head Unit

Hey all. I have a MY2011 GS with what I think is the midline Alpine head unit.

I'm up to speed on fitting a new head unit, using the InCarTech kit that keeps steering wheel controls, reverse parking sensors etc. The kit also includes an amp bypass cable which is apparently needed, but sadly in turn it disables the sub and in order to get the sub back, I would need to fit a new amp.

This is where my understanding gets fuzzy. Because the back seats of the car only have 1 little speaker in each door, I'd like to fit the extra speakers in the rear pillars that some of the higher end models have (buying the different trim panels of course to fit the speakers).

But, in terms of amps, I don't really understand it. Would I connect the new head unit to the amp which then feeds the speakers, or if not, how would I set up the new amp for the sub and how would I connect the extra speakers, if even possible?

Sorry for being a bit vague!

2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I once removed the 'E' pillar panels and found, what looked like speaker connectors, in my 09 GS model. ??

Good Luck

Thanks for that. My understanding is that there are connectors there, but the amp is not configured to feed them. That's where I don't understand how it works. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Chuckalicious,

When you fitted the Incartech kit did you run the cable harness from the back of your head unit into amp in the rear boot panel. If you did could you tell me which way you routed the cable.
