I too have a boat trailer and use a trailer board with led lights on it without the issue you describe. The only "issue" that the led lights cause is the fact that the trailer tell tale on the dash does not work when indicating. It does appear to be an issue with some vehicles that have canbus wiring as it does as you suggested and sends pulses down the wiring. Some online towbar suppliers offer advice /solutions by fitting relays or resistors to cure this issue but I have no personal experience of whether they work or not so cannot offer any recommendations on what to fit. The 2nd grey plug is for use with a caravan as it supplies 12 volts to charge the caravan battery and also has a 12volt feed when engine is running to power the fridge. It also operates the caravan reverse lights if so equipped. |

Hi gsaps, dunno how far along you are with this...You can for $62 buy a FORD LED trailer adaptor which does the job. You need to remove the MALE end of the 12 pin adaptor and replace it with a large round 7 pin to fit into your Black LR plug.
