iPhone connectivity

I've linked my iPhone to the car but can't see that I can transfer selected numbers into the phone book. Looks as if I need to manually upload the numbers?

Funny you should say that, as I thought the same when I connected mine. At first I was only seeing numbers used with calls made while in the car. However after a couple of weeks I can now scroll down through my contacts list. I’m still struggling to actually select them, but I am pretty sure that is simple user error/ignorance on my part! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Started to use the car phone more now and it would be useful to have numbers in the car phone book. When I synched my iPhone I never linked the contacts, there being probably no more than half-dozen numbers I'd call regularly from the car. Is there any way I can selectively synch the numbers I'm most likely to call or is it perhaps easiest to call those specific numbers and create a contacts list albeit as previous numbers called.
The other option I suppose would be to unlink the mobile and then link it up again, this time synchronising my contacts list?
Hope this makes sense.
Should add mine's an HSE SD4 on a 63 plate in case the infotainment systems differ
Thanks

There’s no need to set up a list (it’s in previous calls anyway) just use voice command - “Phone, call XYZ” done ! MY15

Sid, i’m more confused than ever by mine -it seems to be hit and miss what appears on the contacts list! Sometimes I get only the last few contacts used, sometimes the full contacts list, sometimes none at all. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

For this to work does XYZ need to be in my previous call list or should voice command pick up the number out of my mobile phone contacts?

Not sure if it's the hot weather, my age or general inability to cope with anything technical Wink
I've tried voice control, phone, call XYZ, but it's telling me the phones not set up?
I've made a couple of calls from the car, but it's not retaining those numbers in calls made
The phone book key is not illuminated so I'm unable to access contacts when I type in a letter.

Where am I going wrong? Can only think there's a setting I need to change but there's very few options on the phone screen or in my mobile. Perhaps delete the mobile and reassign it?

From “phone” main menu select “settings”

From sub menu select “phone book”

Select “auto download” for phone book.

On your phone go to Bluetooth.

Select “I” on the “Land Rover” connection.

Select “Sync contacts” and select “phone favourites”, “phone recents” & “all contacts” MY15

Stuart, thank you. However mixed fortunes as I'm still not able to pick up my phone book contacts via voice command. Voice command detects my request for phone, I say the name but I'm getting a response saying the facility is not available?
On the bright side, I've since called my Significant Other, using the screen dialpad and her number now appears as one of my last called, surprisingly along with her name, so to do that it's clearly accessed my phone book. Hoped that as her name and number were now 'in the system' I'd be able to call her by voice command but still no joy.
I can't help but think it's something very basic I'm overlooking here

Update - Very strange, I got into car today and complete phone book has mysteriously appeared:thumbsup: Possibly it’s worked like a software update in so far as system needs to be logged off then back on?

Sounds about right Thumbs Up
Unless you set the phone up with the car with all file sharing options selected on initial pairing then the system
Will not update until the system as been fully shut down or deleting and repairing with new settings is done.
You are asked this on pairing phone with car or visa versa. MY15

Hello

Just got a new iphone 8 ( previous one was a 5S). Not paired it with the car yet, but wondering if its going to be a problem because the phone has the same name as my old one. If it is I suppose I can change the name. My audio / phone system is the small monochrome screen in the little cubby hole , rather than the big fancy coloured one the a lot of FL2s seem to have.
