Hi all, apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section. I was torn between this section and technical.

I have just fitted a genuine LR towbar and wiring kit to my 07 Freelander.

I’ve had it coded and the lighting circuit is working perfectly (search function on this forum is great, didn’t even know it needed doing).

So with all that now complete, I’m left with a 5 pin relay holder with no relay in it and a single white wire that isn’t connected to anything but has a ring terminal on the end. I can only assume that as these branch off from the genuine towbar wiring that they are for the fridge power?

Could someone who has installed this wiring please advise me whether it is just a standard 5 pin relay that is required and whether or not the white wire should be bolted to a ground?

I’m a tech with Mercedes and our positive wiring is always coloured white or red so I am reluctant to bolt it down to ground without being 100% sure.

Holiday time soon so hopefully we can arrive with a nice cool fridge.

on the 12n system there is one earth wire and it's white, on the 12s system (fridge etc) there are two earths one is white and one is black if I remember right, Common sense isn't very common.
