Well they're owned by Indians, and are making cars in China, Austria and South America as well as UK, using parts from all over the EU, so they are going to make decisions according to hard business principles. They will only be "patriotic" as long as it's good for marketing. Similar applies to Nissan et al. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

If a hard Brexit does occur then there are going to have to be some very painful decisions to make. I’m sure that JLR don’t want this kind of upheaval (which is why the warnings are getting less subtle), but they have to look after their business and if that means discontinuing new investment in the UK and accelerating their trend of shifting production out of the UK then we can’t say that we weren’t warned!

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

In the Business section of THE TIMES JLR are warning that an expected sharp slow down in sales in America and Europe will be leading to a potential revenue downturn.

In fact the credit rating agency Moody's have reduced JLR's "corporate family rating" from Ba1 to Ba2, citing concerns over Britain's departure from the EU, and the decline in diesel sales.
Moody's go on to say "A disorderly Brexit scenario would have negative effects on JLR's performance, driven by expected disruptions of it's supply chain, and the risk of tariffs being imposed by the EU for exports from outside the EU."

The article goes on to say that a lot of manufacturing is moving from Britain, although future UK production will be earmarked for higher value electrical and hybrid vehicles. Also while UK and EU sales are down, there has been an increase in sales in China and India.

These financial articles tend to be quite truthful, unlike the pro- & anti-Brexit stories. In truth I feel that neither the Bexiteers or the Government have a clue as to what to do, or what will happen. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I’m tending to believe that May has a very good idea how serious this is and how badly it could end and is putting forward a reasonable package to limit the damage. Of course, while it would be better not to have the car crash in the first place, she is (at long last) struggling to find the seat belt Thumbs Up
