No it’s not normal but I don’t know what it could be.

This is not normal. Does it happen on both sides/wheels or only one?

I had/have this problem as well, but only on left wheel. When on lock, left wheel started to scrub the inner plastic arch. The issue was also noticable visually, because on left front wheel the gaps between wheel and arch were no the same. I changed front springs, struts and strut bearings, but it didn't solve the issue. Just now (literally 20 min ago)I finished replacing left control arm and it seems that the problem is now fixed, at least the distance between arch and wheel is the same on both sides on left wheel but I still have to take it for a ride. I think in my case control arm was slightly bent, also there were some cracks in bushings and I think that hydro bushing was empty. If this will not solve my issue, I will take the car to a proper shop, since there is a possibility for subframe damage although not visually noticable.

Additional problems that could be related to this issue - when braking from around 100 kmph, and releasing the brakes, there was always a knock from front left side, also on uneven surfaces the car steering wheel was acting weird.

I agree with Chips.

The most likely problem is Haldex allowing build up of stress between front and rear axles.

Symptoms that you may experience:

Drumming or humming sound coming from the rear

'All terrain mode disabled' message

Juddering noise on full lock

Drumming or whirring noise from the front footwell

The car operates with front wheel drive only

If the car is suffering a juddering on full lock and there are no error messages displayed this is a sign that the Haldex unit is failing / failed internally, unfortunately the only solution is to change the complete unit for a reconditioned or new unit.

Yep, classical symptoms of a failing haldex I'm afraid. Usually through lack of maintenance (fluid and filter change + pump cleaning) as the JLR service schedule is inadequate regarding the haldex unit.

As mentioned already, Bell Engineering are the people to speak to. Jules
