The house we're hoping to move to is in the sticks, in the middle of Somerset, and so no fibre just normal broadband with low speeds

Anybody got any recommendations for a 4G home broadband or other alternative to phone line broadband. I have 2 teenage gaming/YouTube sons, no need pretty good speeds and at least 100gb usage a month

Village in Dorset. I get 13mb consistently, my neighbour upgraded to "superfast" and gets about 40mb (both of us with BT) The problem with 3 or 4G is contention with other users as the base station can only deliver so much even if you have a good signal. There is a village hall that I visit occasionally near Swanage and they have satellite but the speed varies tremendously and can be very slow at times and there is a latency of a couple of seconds due in part to the distance to the satellite. For just me and the wife 13Mb is more than adequate for iPlayer, Skype etc 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

If your phone line is via a junction box from the exchange your chances of fibre in the near future is reasonable (Open Reach continually move the goalposts when the time reduces to 6 months for another couple or so years) if you are on a direct to exchange line then who knows? not even Open Reach my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
