Then when they catch people they only have them selves to blame as they have warned been warned. Common sense isn't very common.

Has anyone ever noticed the correlation between how nice, warm, dry and sunny the day is and the chances of finding a camera out on the roadside? It was a beautiful day in Devon and Cornwall today and they were “out of the office” in strength along the length of the A30 from Exeter to Truro.

Some truth in the nice weather = camera's out in force approach. About 5 years ago now I was caught doing 32mph in a 30mph limit on the approach to Barmouth. The road along the estuary is a combination of 50 and 30 limits. Best of all where I got done I was actually in a convoy of around 10 vehicles - I wonder if we were all done or just the ones the hairdryer could zap? Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

Lifted from the RIAS website:

Do I have to declare a speeding awareness course on my insurance?

Motorists frequently ask whether they need to disclose to their car insurance companies that they have received driver education as a result of speeding. Attending a speeding awareness course is notclassed as a conviction, which requires the ticking of the box on insurance quotation forms to disclose such an offence in the last 5 years.

Choosing to attend a course will avoid penalty points being added to your licence, maintaining a clean licence in some cases, and because course data isn’t held by the DVLA, it can’t be checked by insurance companies. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

In Dorset the police have a van with hi viz writing on it saying that it's a speed detection van. They advertise online and in the local papers as to where it will be stationed on each day. Never quite worked out the logic on this one. Shocked

The key purpose of the police is the prevention and detection of crime. Advertising the details can cause drivers to stick to the limit therefore reducing crime and keeping the roads safer - which is why the police call speed cameras safety cameras rather than revenue cameras, which in some areas is their prime purpose.
