Hi I have become the owner of my first Freelander 2 today 2013 Dynamic
The front grill has tarnished on the front where the chrome is and I would like to replace with a new grille, but can not find the gloss black dynamic one anywhere, does anyone know where I can purchase

if you cant find a replacement, which will be very costly potentially with fitting etc then just get the existing grill sprayed yourself. it seems to be a common problem as mine had it as well.

I see the grille on eBay for like £70 but there not the dynamic black gloss ones, the problem is I have the correct gloss black grille but the chrome has slightly worn away so that why I want to replace .

the grill is bonded to the rest of the front bumper so not as straight forward as you may think so factor in labour charges on top of the £70 if you don't do the job yourself. The gloss black ones do look great against the right colour car but I wouldn't rule out just having your existing one resprayed.

Hi thanks for your reply , the one I have on at the minute is the gloss black, and the glass black is fine, it's the chrome around the outside that has peeled, I don't think you can rechrome it correct me if am wrong, so I would need a whole new grille.
But there are no gloss black dynamic grilles anywhere

yeh I know the plastic chrome surround strip you mean, like I say mine did the same. Its almost like the laquer has peeled away.

finding a Dynamic front grill on ebay etc will be a tough job, but not impossible. Which is why I suggested the respray as it will easier, quicker and possibly much cheaper.

Sorry I thought that you had, the same issue and sorted your grille out through a respray, but you cannot repspray the chrome plastic can you.

yes, its only plastic so as long as the correct method and paint type is used there should be no issues.

How about getting the chrome part wrapped ? Shouldn't cost too much and it'll stay shiny .

My MY13 tarnished too. I had a whinge to LR and cited the paint guarantee.

The dealer advised that painting it with exact same silver would see it happen again, so we opted for Santorini Black bars and Lacquered silver edging. Looks gorge.
