Question on coil spring and window motor

Hi all . Typical .. Well I think I’ve decided the time has come to let the old girl go and after a couple of pretty much trouble free years this week I’ve got a broken front coil spring and a drivers side front window that’s decided to have a mind of its own . So a couple of questions to help me sort these before I can advertise it . Can the front strut be taken off the hub in situ or does the complete leg and hub assembly have to be removed as one and anyone had window problems where you have to keep repressing button to get window fully up .ive tried the reset and swapped module in door . There is power to the motor for 2 seconds then stops and you have to press again and again to fully close thanks Tim
