Do`nt think that the police will be that interested to be honest as my wife had a similar incident a few years ago and it went nowhere. For a fee of around £5 you can get the insurance details of the other vehicle from the M.I.D and then make a claim against their insurance. My wife did this a couple of years ago when her car was damaged in a Sainsburys car park. It was very straightforward and she had the go ahead to get her car repaired within a week of contacting the other parties insurance. Good luck! |

Sadly plod isn't interested. Had someone bump into my Freelander in a supermarket car park a month or do ago, scuff to rear bumper corner but hard enough knock to push bumper into rear panel causing a small dent. Supermarket CCTV didn't cover that area of the car park and plod said it's a matter for the insurance company |

if damage to your car occurs within a car park or similar then the Police have no remit as its on private owned ground. Its a civil matter and you need to chase it up for yourself.

Unless it (as in driver) has done say £1,500 upwards of damage its a lost cause on any car due to how insurance companies will treat you in the future. Sad but true. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
