I found it a bit easier to get my hand in by undoing the inter cooler hose jubilee clip and holding it to one side. mind I do have big hands. from underneath that is. |

Doing it underneath with the 27mm flex I head ratchet spanner will be a doddle. Push it on and it locks in place as there are a couple of plastic spring lugs on the 27mm filter head then just do it a bit at a time. Much easier than removing intercooler hoses and faffing about with a socket. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Personally, I find it easier to do the filter change from above. It is a bit of a fiddle gettting the housing out but not difficult. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Hi gang, right, I also removed the front black plastic cover bit and also cut off one of those stupid mouldings that stick down under the towing eye cover and actually do nowt.. Loosened the intercooler hose jubilee clip and moved the hose out of the way. 27mm flexible head ratchet spanner, doddle(ish). |
