Audio volume when using MP3 in Aux Skt

Don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but my search didn't find it.

When using my ZEN+ Mp3 player through the Aux socket (Std Audio unit), the Zen has to have its volume set pretty high and I also have to raise the audio unit volume to get normal (I don't blast it out) volume levels . This works well and sounds great ......BUT..... when a News or Traffic alert comes through it almost blasts my head off, before I can turn the volume down. Is there a way of cancelling the raised volume of the alerts, without cancelling the alerts.

I can't find anything in the owner's manual that covers this. Does anybody have the same problem?

The AVC referred to, only covers auto volume increase to overcome raised cabin noise at higher speeds. Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

I don't use alerts myself as i don't need to know the traffic in london etc

But have you tried altering the volume when they come on, like you can do when the satnav gives its instructions.

From what you say it sounds like you do this anyway, due to it been too loud Confused

But i have to do the same on my iPod, ipod on full and radio tuned up etc Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi

I think you can change the Aux volume in setting, when on Aux, got to menu (I think) and it should be in there.

May be worth a go. I seem to remember changing it on mine, for using the iPod, now the iPod is the same volume as CDs.
