Fault code clear

Hi
Any tips on how to clear a fault code without a reader?
Eg disconnecting the battery???

Wales 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

You can get a ODB Bluetooth code reader for under £20 or a cheap one for under a tenner. I'm not sure if you can clear them without a code reader Lee
