Air con recharge recommendations, Leeds/Wakefield area.

The air con seems to be loosing its bite, so I am considering a regas. Any suggestion in the Leeds/Wakefield area please. Also, how much should I expect to pay? (I'm not going to a stealers). Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

Mine's going the same way, but I'm thinking along the lines of buying a re-gas kit and doing it myself. It's not difficult, and a reusable re-gas kit should cost no more than a garage re-gas.

You need to be careful with a home kit that you do not over fill it as that will also cause the system to shut down.

Most regas centres charge about £40 this will involve vacuuming out all the gas, checking for leaks and if found identifying where they are, putting in the correct amount of new gas along with the required amount of oil to lubricate the system.

Interested being in that broad area as I was only talking about a re-gas today myself to a very important person (Mrs Yorky). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Maybe try Green Oval in Leeds, just off the M62 (Ikea junction). FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Must be the season...I am booked in at a local place for mine on Saturday morning.

I used one of the DIY kits on my previous car, but that was after it had completely leaked and I was replacing condenser, seals, oil etc, so the system was completely empty. I can’t gauge results, as it turned out the leak was in the cabin end of things and would have needed the whole dash and console stripped back, including steering column etc and that was more than was worth doing to get cool air in a 14 year-old car that spent most of its life in cold temperatures!

It did teach me the lesson, though, that it is probably worth getting air-con re-charged regularly, to keep the oil levels up and keep the seals lubricated. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
