Hi all,

After having 2007 FL2 serviced a couple of weeks ago and all the usual fluids and filters changed the clutch pedal started to stick about 2 inches from its usual position. This happened a week after the service. It doesn't happen every time and usually after a while it's more ok than not.

I'm guessing horror of horrors that it could be the slave cylinder so massive job and expensive?

Or could it be the clutch needs bleeding if there's air in the system? Can this be done? The fluid reservoir is to the max so can't be loosing fluid and not tell tail signs in or outside of the car. I spoke to the person who serviced the car and he told me that if there was air in the system then the pedal would be on the floor. Is this correct? I remember having to bleed brakes years ago and the pedal was spongy if the system had air in it. It was never on the floor.

Had the same problem with the clutch 3 years ago when I bought it from a large national dealership. They had it in twice to try and fix it and in the end they told me it was the spring on the pedal which I'm not sure I believe them though the spring does look new compaired to everything else. If they had fixed it properly then surely the fix should have lasted more than the 24,000 miles I've done since then?

Can't see any threads that tell me where the bleed nipple is or find any photographs.

Is it even at all possible to bleed the clutch?

Search for service manual and you should find a link or Google Freelander 2 service manual. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

There is a bleeds nipple on the front of the bell housing. If you look in my gallery there is a pic in there. MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

Managed to download a manual earlier and with that image in your Gallery Darren it all seems to make sense now. Have been out and bought a bleed kit and some fluid and will tackle at the weekend.

Hopefully it'll work but if not will just have to smash the piggy bank.
