Bye bye

After a year with a Freelander 2 HSE TD4 I'm picking up an approved-used Audi A5 3.0 TDI Quattro Sport on Friday.

Still wondering if I'm doing the right thing: love the driving position and practicality of the Freelander, but I no longer have a need to tow, and so I'm taking the opportunity to change to the A5. A different kind of vehicle altogether, but I hope the A5 will still be able to get me out of muddy music festivals.

It's been fun...

Thanks, I'll most likely keep an eye on the forum - you never know, I might even request a tow out of a muddy field...

I'll replace you. Gonna sign the offer for a brand new FL2 this weekend. Will have to wait a few month (3 according to the dealer) before I get it, but I'll post a photo once it's here.

I'm just wondering if it'll be a start/stop as they will start production on it in march according to the importer.

Told my dealer that I can wait a bit if necessary.

Thanks all. Actually, in 2007 I did test-drive an A5 before an FL2 when I thought I would have a need to tow, but my needs are different now.

The FL2 is the first car I've had that had no blanking plates! Oh well...

Yipieeeeeeeee !!!

Gonna order my FL2 tomorrow. We agreed on the price!

Black SX (S with special promotions like leather and stuff), light interior and lots of chrome-parts. It's even gonna be a TD4_e! Milestone

I explecitely asked for the e-version becouse it has some improved equipment (battery and stuff) and you can turn it off anyway if it proves to be annoying.

Yipieeeee!!! In 3 months it should be all mine Mr. Green I can hardly wait ...

PS got somewhere near 15% off, but got very lucky to have a dealer making an error: offer an extra incentive other dealer gives without asking. So called him on it and he caved by reducing my price with 1000 euros. Fed it back to my preferred dealer and he sees no problem with the price.

So if there are any dealers reading this: be straight or lose money, it's your chooise!!!! If the f**ker was honest from the beginning he would have sold me the car as his location is more convenient for me!

Yes, only for Belgium I'm afraid: http://www.freelandersx.be/nl/

Apparently it's an S and the paste an X next to it.

The importer together with the dealers have created this pack I think mainly for fleet-managers.

I dunno.. you guys don't have the Gs or XS so it looks like it's a special edition that they have come up with to fill the gap between S and SE. Closer, if not higher than XS spec by the looks of it.

Edit : tell a lie.. looks like it's between SE and HSE. Bloomin eck!

Added some stuff to it like chrome bar, full chrome mirrors, sun roof, memory on the seats (becouse i have te reset everything after my wifes driven it) etc...

Plan to get the handles and platelightcover chromed and install a sat/nav to complete it. But we cannot get chrome handles an platelightcover as of yet.

Will also be a TD4_e as it has some nice improvements and you can turn it off if it gets annoying, without any extra cost apparently.

Yeah.. over XS spec it seems to have sunroof, leather seats with memory, Alpine 6 CD changer, heated seats and adaptive xenon lights. Considering it already seems to have everything the XS has, that's a damn good spec!

Mind you, my french / dutch ain't all up there! 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

no sunroof, CD changer, heated seats or xenon lights, they are optional. I think the leather is the only think thats over the XS, the rest is the same. That's probably why the call ik SX so the can order an XS with leather from the manufacturer.

PS have the sunroof added too + privacy glass (neat on a black one)
