Can anyone give me some advice, I recently bought a Fl2 sd4 2013 model. Myconsumtion is 9.5 l/100 open road and 11.5 in town. I would like to better this. Will a remap make a worthwhile differance? I dont really need more power just better consumption. Is it safe in the long term? Already checked tyre pressure, new airfilter new oilfilter and oil. Any advice will be appreciated. |

Thank you for the advice, so do you remove and blank off the EGR yourself? |

Back in July 2017 Yorky Bob was pleading to hear from anyone who had experience of blanking the EGR of a 2013 onwards version. I don't think he received any replies back then........................

If you increase your power and torque by (over)boosting and fuelling what else do you need to do to make the car safe and reliable.

What I have noticed in doing the power increase - is that the car is more driveable.

As our fishy friend says, it is not all about power but more importantly it is more driveable. The extra stresses you mention would only have a long term effect if you try and use the power all of the time. I had a similar unit on my last FL2 and when I sold it, the mileage was 240,000 miles so I would say that reliability is not an issue. Personally I prefer to drive in sport mode as the gear changes seem even smoother. Cheers,
