just started a family visit to my daughters and grand children ,one lives in Darwin The other in Perth .Around trip of 10000k or more depending on side trips . The first side trip was to the painted desert in South Aus and well worth the visit with splendid scenery varying from gibber stone desert to the multi coloured hills at Arkaringa station .Arkaringa station I one of the smaller cattle stations in Australia with a land area of 2750 sq kilometres and carries about 2000 head of cattle .camping is at the station with toilets and hot showers when the generator is running .
