At risk of setting off a debate akin to "do speaker cables make a difference", what is the view on whether I should still use the now superseded LR001247.

The LR001247 is still being sold in service kits and was of course the only part for the FL2 at some time.

Anyone know of the changes to make it LR030778 (I had one out of the car, so I know visually what the difference is)

And for those who don't know, the newer one has a hard plastic end cap where the original was more card like.

I'd hazard a guess the newer one less likely to leak/buckle if abused and not changed. But as we change at about 10k that isn't an issue for me. So if the filtration is as good, I am not going to stress.

PS:- Matford LR are doing a full 2/4/6/8 year service kit for £57 on ebay - List price £95. All genuine LR.

We did the Matfords prices a few weeks ago, your speaker cable does not work then.
