Both keys are flat

I had the battery changed in one of my keys last year and all has been good until last month when it stopped working so I changed to my spare original key. This is also now flat so I presume it is the key socket not charging them. Firstly has anyone else had this and secondly is there any way to charge the keys on a stand like a phone charging stand? MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

Do you have any wireless charging pads for phone/toothbrush etc? I've seen on here that toothbrush ones have worked in the past. A phone charging pad by the front door could be a cheap but easy fix....

Thanks for the replies

I tried the above and nothing worked. So I took the key apart charged it from a 18650 battery to get it working for a couple of days and traded the car in for a my62 GL very happy and now can’t wait till Friday to pick it up MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

That's a bit drastic just for a key problem Shocked Common sense isn't very common.

Yes but it’s not the key it’s the slot.

I do agree but in this case I can prove it’s not the batteries. Both keys have died one I had the battery changed last year. If I take the key apart and hold a 18650 battery (same voltage) onto the terminals of the battery I can charge it and all is well for a while, depending on how long I hold the battery on will determine how long it lasts. MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

All I can say is that you're a very tolerant man - I moan at Significant Other when she applies hand cream just before I drop her off somewhere and she leaves marks on the door Very Happy

My pet hate. The wife and 24 yo daughter are the regular front seat passengers. They always leave makeup paw prints on inside and outside of door.
