Due to my iffy welding skills, I am extremely good with an angle grinder.

I am sure I could sort out your bracket, and or on the other hand you could make it fit, in another dimension. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I recommend www.oozlumwelders.com - They always manage to weld up their own ar*es ! - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.

My Dad & I in the late 1980s for fun did first year arc welding & oxy acetylene welding, we came first & second in the TAFE course for oxy acetylene. My Dad got first but I still think my welding was better than his! Our arc welding was also better than anyone else but they couldn't give all the prizes!

We also were the only ones back then who had the auto dimming face shields, which in those days were worth about $1000 each which made welding a lot easier. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I'm not good at welding, but I do have a set of triangular hole extractors if that's of any interest.

FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

At the end of the welding course that I did I was advised to continue with holding things together with blu-tac and chewing gum as it was neater, stronger and safer. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

A decade ago I was asked to do some welding for signal devices for NSW railways as they couldn't get someone else. I said I haven't welded for a decade or so!

Finished the job & they said it was the best welding they have ever seen.

The benchmark sample I had to copy looked like is was welded in an Asian country powered off a couple of old car batteries. Blu-tac was not far off the mark!

When they've been extracted, do you find that's it's best to keep those triangular holes in a square or round box?

I find it best to store the triangular holes on the outside of smaller round holes. I wanted to try square holes but I did not have the right size square drill bit.

Since reading your post, I've rearranged my holes with the triangular ones outside of the smaller round ones; heres a photo of the final collection
