Can anyone recommend where I can purchase and have fitted a LR tow bar? I'm in the West London area near M4 J2 but would travel up to 2 hours or so to get it done.

I know the bumper needs to be cut, does it need to be re-sprayed as well to hide the cutting?
Could do with a quick respray anyway on the scuffs on the rear corner. Perhaps an all in one job? -Mark

I fitted a detachable witter bar myself, didnt require cutting or removal of the bumper. Cost a fraction of the price, just needed the electrics programming once i wired the plugs up. 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black
(Privacy glass, leather/heated seats, ICE, Verde AS M+S)

Lots of choice, any reputable towbar fitting place will fit. Witter, Brink etc with fixed, swan neck or detachable, then the preferred CanBus looms, again after market by Witter/ Brink. Just be sure whoever you choose has the ability to programme the electrics. As said if you go the Witter route then no bumper cut needed.

any pointers to the part numbers you ordered? Was it a full kit incl. electrics? -Mark

before I fitted mine I hunted for youtube vids just so I could see the 'lay of the land'. I had to laugh at one, if I remember right he started it in an afternoon and he seemed to finish it, in the morning, two days later, as I'm sure it goes dark twice during his vid!
He struggled to actually get it to fit in place but his problem was, he tightened the bolts as he put them in! It's best to leave everything loose until your sure everything is fitted and lined up, then go around all the bolts torquing them up.

The correct loom for a MY2010 13 pin electric socket is proving elusive. Does the MY2010 have a towing mode on the ECU also?

What is the AL-KO and AL-LO ball stuff about?

Has anyone got the Witter Fixed flange towbar with reversing sensors fitted? Have their been any issues? -Mark

Never heard of AL-LO but AL-KO couplings are fitted to most if not all modern caravans in the UK. The coupling has a built-in stabiliser and they recommend that you fit the corresponding AL-KO ball coupling to your towing vehicle although it seems to still work ok with most 50mm ball couplings.They also do various different anti theft devices that fit over/in the coupling to help prevent theft. Not a Witter but I have the Land Rover fixed tow bar fitted and have no issues with it in regards to the reversing sensors.

I've got a Witter bar fitted with dedicated wiring - absolutely no problem from the reversing sensors with or without the trailer attached.
I used PF Jones and happily recommend them  No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Yes, I have. I got rid of the Witter detachable because of the free play and clunking, they swapped for new under warranty but it still clunked so they replaced again but same problem, I then asked for a fixed flange type. Not the prettiest but its quiet and solid and does not affect the reversing sensors.

Each of my three FL2s have required a different OEM towbar wiring loom depending on the model year. The latest one (64 plate) uses a "plug n play" loom and required no programming/registering.

I have used the same Witter towbar (detachable/flanged) on all three (no bodywork removal or cutting - only drill small access hole for a 13mm socket behind LH reflector) - but got it chemically stripped and repainted between 2nd and 3rd vehicles. Jules

You won’t need to spray the bumper. Here’s a picture of mine dealer fitted the fixed height tow bar from new upon delivery. Unfortunately it never was a factory option to spec. The smaller cut out is the standard bumper. The larger cut out is the styling pack. You cannot see the cut out sections unless you physically look under the vehicle.

MY13> The genuine electrics were plug and play no CCF edits required.
