Hi I am now a new member and this is my first post. So a big hello to members.
We have a 2007 fl2 hse manual diesel and have had it for 7 years now.
Problem starts this cold spell hard to start then the battery fails, hardly surprising as it turns out to be the original Land Rover one. Changed it for new one starts ok now but central locking now will lock but not unlock or other way round inconsistently, also fob only works next to car we have 2 fobs both doing the same and they worked ok before flat battery change, if press multiple times this will work sometimes. Mirrors fold Windows all work from fobs.
Any thoughts on this as we have to use the key method

At that age it could just be coincidence that the key fob batteries are both knackered, but perhaps try a “hard reset” to rule out general battery-disconnection errors. (Disconnect battery, leave for half an hour, then reconnect. Perhaps connect a 12v bulb or other 12v electrical component across the battery leads to aid complete discharge). 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Does your FL2 lock / unlock normally using dashboard switches? - This should confirm problem is key fob.

The workshop manual states that remote keys need at least 6 mins in docking position whilst driving to re-learn / synchronise codes after failure.

If you keep pressing the buttons the locking / unlocking will become intermittent as stated below.

I recently did a hard reset and was very confused when my locks defaulted to what i later discovered was 'single point entry'. To unlock all the doors needed a double press on the unlock button.

Read the following from TOPIX:-

"The remote handset may be configured by the driver for single point entry or global entry, by simultaneously pressing the remote handset lock and unlock buttons for 4 seconds. The vehicle must initially be in an unlocked state and the remote handset recently removed from the start control module prior to the mode change. The direction indicators will flash twice for 250 milliseconds with a 250 millisecond pause between flashes to confirm the mode change. The vehicle will also lock and then unlock in the selected mode.

When single point entry is enabled, an unlock command from the remote handset will only unlock the driver's door, liftgate and the fuel filler door. To unlock the remaining entry points, a second unlock command from the remote handset or the instrument panel central unlock switch is required."

In the Handbook it gives a slightly different procedure (doesn't refer to the remote being recently removed from the start control module):-

"Single/Multi-point entry
When you press the unlock button your vehicle
will unlock in one of two ways:
1. Unlock the driver's door and fuel filler flap. A second press is required to unlock the remaining doors.
2. Unlock all doors, fuel filler flap, and the tailgate.
This security feature unlocks only the driver’s door and tailgate. It can be disabled on individual remote controls by unlocking the vehicle then simultaneously pressing and holding the lock and unlock buttons for three seconds. The vehicle will lock and then unlock in the currently selected mode and the hazard warning lights will flash twice to confirm the change. You can now unlock all doors with a single press. Repeating the procedure will re-enable Single point entry.

Global opening
Press and hold the unlock button for three seconds to unlock the vehicle and open all of the windows."

Is that Topix entry perhaps for later models, where additional key-specific info, such as mirror and seat adjustments can be configured differently for each key?

I changed from “single point entry” to “unlock all” using the IID tool to change the CCF settings and that set it for both keys. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Thanks for the replies I will start with battery disconnect 1st, not sure what's happening but with key locking the red light on dash goes into very fast flashing, start engine and returns to normal. See what happens Sunday.

Well tried battery disconnect for 1 hour and still not working, all works from inside the car ok using dash buttons. I will send off a remote for refurb and go from there strange as both worked perfectly untill flat battery. I will let you know the result later on hopefully good news. Thanks again.

Just received refurbished key fob and result!!!! all works ok now.
