I would like to swap my exhaust for a twin pipe set up. I have searched and found this post -

But the post seems a little confusing and the pics are random.

Has anyone else done this and/ or can someone point me in the right direction?

I have put in the missing photo in the above link. You cut off the exhaust box & use the clamp for the petrol exhaust.

That is a good deal! I notice the pipe tips are turned down though, where my Si4 box has straight tips.

Cut them where they bend down so what's left is straight, then fit your tips. The tips on my i6 were held on by grub screws. Easy. And bloody cheap ! Still have my tips as I fitted HST tips, so if anyone needs them....................

Yes, that is what this thread is about. My twin pipe box has been fitted for about 11 months (to my diesel)

I know that's what this thread is about as I created it and my apologies, I wasn't very clear in my last post. I wondered if the exhaust shown in the ebay link had ever been fitted to a diesel.

Are you saying you have used this item on your car? What problems, if any, did you have?

As it says in my sig: Si4 Twin Pipe box. In my case, the Si4 box has the same fittings as the TD4 box and it has the same inlet pipe diameter (60mm). I just cut the original pipe at the appropriate point to make butt join with the new box & fitted a 60mm sleeve clamp to join the two. Only trouble was levering of and on the rubber box hangers.

Dunkley201, I did see the twin box in your signature.

I wondered if you, or anyone else for that matter, had used the same pipe as shown in the eBay listing above and if it was a straight swap (unbolt existing, bolt on new) or required modification. It now seems, from reading your last post, there needs to be some cutting and clamping or maybe welding to get the thing on. That's is not outside of my skill set but was hoping for a simpler solution.

I note the system in the link above is said to be FL2 and Evoque. Quite possible but I have no idea if that is the case or if an Evoque system will fit an FL2.
My modification was so simple. Raise the car on a 4 post lift. Offer up the Si4 box to the FL2 system as fitted. Mark on the FL2 central pipe where the Si4 inlet aligns. Take an angle grinder and cut the original pipe at that point. Remove the rear silencer box (3 rubber hangers). Slide on a 60mm sleeve joint obtained from eBay. (Didn’t bother with the genuine LR option as there seems to be confusion on size needed). Offer up Si4 box. Align with original central pipe. Engage 3 rubber hangers. Align and tighten clamp. Job done! What can be simpler? Certainly not changing the whole system.
