Hello, no I don't think so. Just changed the spring as far as I'm aware. I'll ask them, but do you think this could be the cause? It's just a funny random rattle - quite hard to describe. Colin. |

It could be that what’s collapsed or it could be the drop link what’s failed as they’ve had that undone. |

my sons garage had this problem,i don't know all the details, but the conclusion was that a spacing washer got thrown out with the old mounting,so although all was tight, there was a knocking noise, when it got stripped down it was obvious that something was missing. |

Thanks Ginna104 and Sid for your suggestions. It goes back in tomorrow and will hopefully get sorted out this time. I'll mention these possibilities to the mechanics. Everything else is fully tightened up, so I'm sure it can only be something at the top of the spring column. I'll have a look and see if the Haynes manual has a decent diagram of the assembly tonight to help me understand it, but its not overly helpful in other respects so I'm not holding my breath! I'll report back in due course. Thanks once again for your help. Colin. |

Problem solved by the sound of it! Garage dismantled the o/s front spring assembly again and went through everything. They then removed the wheel arch liner and found a clip holding part of the ABS equipment/ wiring floating loose. They reckon this was the problem and the cause of the noise and it does seem to have stopped it now.
