I was one of four kids but back then cars did not have seat belts so no problem.

We fitted a childs seat in them middle a while back, so we good do some greenlaning, and give my niece a good view out the front, and fit 4 adults in the car, never gave a thought to regs about seats, I thought that as it has a 3 point belt it would be fine.

I've been having a good look around and have found seats like the Britax Evolva 2-3 are sculpted in at the base so you can comfortably get your hand in and undo the seat belt. Also the Britax Sprint booster seat is also sculpted in to help with the tight space. Im thinking this combo could well be the answer. |

I am also struggling with this conundrum and the only option so far has been eldest child (5 yrs) in front passengers with seatbelt fastened child seat. 3 yr old in ISOFIX seat one side and newborn in ISOFIX the other side with Mum or Dad wedged between them depending on who's driving. This is far from ideal and would much prefer for the 5yr old to be in the middle with three point harness seat but none of the many we have tried will physically fit in-between let alone allow space to fasten up. I'd be extremely interested to hear from anyone that has overcome this problem. |

my cousin has 3 kids under 3, he had to sell his D4 and get a merc van with seats to properly fit the seats in. His wife chased all possibilites to keep the D4 but it just isnt possible/practical At work

Thanks for reply,I had half anticipated this problem which is why we ordered a new Discovery 7 seater last September thinking it would arrive before baby no. 3. No such luck!! We're still a month away from delivery,Grrr, and baby no.3 is one month today and growing rapidly!! Worried now a 7 seat Discovery won't cut the mustard but we need the off-road capability of a L/R not a mickey mouse part -time 4wd make. |

Largered, that reminds me that we discovered (a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away!) that a Mothercare travel cot, fully made up, would fit in the back of the 90 CSW but without enough space to then get the child into it... We also knew that a short journey in the LR was great for getting child off to sleep and that evening visits to friends led to disproportionate babysitting costs... I guess you can join the dots! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
