United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black
Disco3 and RRS Reliability

Hi all,

The original Freelander was criticised for a few little reliability issues. i.e. IRD Ratios, head gasket, etc. without opening a huge debate on the past.

Can I ask how good the new Disco3 and RR Sport are? I have heard some rumours about the air suspension dropping the Diso3 onto its bump stops.

Anything to worry about or are Ford bringing them into line?

Thanks,
Harvey

Moved to Off Topic as it's not FL2 related Wink

Harvey, it might be worth a visit to the sister sites to Freel2.com - www.disco3.co.uk and www.rrsport.co.uk Smile

Speaking of the RRS - considering how complex the car is there are very few problems. RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver, Alpaca, Privicy Glass, Sun roof, PTI, Tasmod's sills, DVD for the offspring, Sex on wheels! RRSPORT.CO.UK sticker on back window! S/C grill & Vents, Front & Rear Lamp Guards, Driving lamps and mud in places you wouldn't believe!
D3 for the wife - No extras! (she has to earn them!)

I like Boobies!!!!

No issues here either. The odd niggle at first (one of the first built) but all correct now.

All my 3 Freelander's have been great too.

Stop worrying and buy one !

From spending a lot of time on both forums, it would seem that the RRS has been more reliable than the D3. Some RRS have suffered some electrical problems, but nothing too worrying. D3s have suffered the same and also many compressor problems. There seems to be many D3s that have been rejected due to continuing problems. Maybe LR ironed out many of the problems before the RRS launch.
I've owned a RRS for nearly a year and covered 20k miles and it was completely reliable. I've now got a new D3 which is a month old and covered 4.5K miles and again as been perfect (touch wood). Matt
