Mudflaps

Made an on-line enquiry of a local indie I've just discovered, basically looking for a price to fit mudflaps. Having given him the reg etc, he's come back saying that he's checked 'micro-cat??' which suggests I've either got a sports finish or some other kit already fitted which would stop flaps being fitted.
As far as I'm aware its a standard 63 plate TD4 SDE, so I'm not certain what he's referring to? What's 'micro-cat?' that he refers to.
Before anyone suggests flaps could be diy, I would explain the car lives roadside, I've no access to a garage and physically my back and knees wouldn't be up to it Sad
May ask my local garage, sure his rates will be less than the indie

Micro-cat is an on-line parts catalogue. Land Rover only do mudflaps for the standard model although you can also buy pattern mudflaps which cost a bit less. If you have a "Dynamic" model or one fitted with the Dynamic body kit then Land Rover did not do mudflaps to fit the bodykit but you can buy pattern mudflaps to suit the Dynamic Body on Ebay See Ebay item no eBay Item No. 232448088734. No connection to the seller. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the response - with hindsight 'micro-cat' is a bit obvious isn't it Embarassed
Will have to check those eBay flaps as I wasn't aware ours was anything but standard, although looks very similar to the one on the listing

Sid,
Unless yours is fitted with the Dynamic body kit (google Freelander Dynamic for images) then it will be the standard body panels.
LR do a genuine front and rear set but as has been said there are after market versions. Powerfuluk.co.uk do a set, as do Britpart and Paddock Spares.
But you get what you pay for..... genuine LR are expensive (as expected) and the aftermarket sets roughly half the price. Some People have had no problems with aftermarket and some have had them snap off or crack.

So probably best if you buy your own and take them to a garage to fit. The fronts are easy, rears require a little drilling I believe.

It’s the other way round Rog. Rears are a doddle. Fronts need a little trimming of the plastic wheel arch liner , and a special bracket installing behind the plastic liner , this bracket is sometimes missing on non genuine kits . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

No plans on off roading; fitted flaps to my Forester and found it cut down significantly on the crap and crud that got thrown up under the rear wings. I wonder if perhaps the rear end of the Freelander is designed in such a way to prevent this in normal everyday use because the rear oem flaps are significant smaller than I had fitted to the Foz.
