I'm pretty sure that mine goes off with the ignition because on my last European trip I had a cooler plugged into it and it kept stopping shortly after I'd turned off the engine. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Pre MY13 FL2s have simpler logic to their wiring and although the forward 12v outlet on the consul is ignition controlled, the rear consul socket and the boot supply outlet is permanently on.

No problem keeping the beers cold...you can sit there and drink them while you re-charge your battery

I can confirm that it stayed on in my 59 plate TD4e. But on my new(er) MY13 it goes off. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

The rear socket on the console (just left of the driver's seat) of my TD4 (MY11) is constantly on too.
