The Disco's wheels barely spin a revolution before TC kicks in. The Freelander's wheels spin quite quickly and for many revolutions. Low range really helps keep the revs down. The trouble with TC is you have to lose traction for it to work and in a Freelander on a dusty dirt track you kick up clouds of dust before it regains control. Still, it's probably better than any other car without low range. At the end of the day, you simply cannot beat lockers for negotiating obstacles of that nature. |
