CD Player mutes after restarting engine

Does anyone else have this:
If I'm playing a CD and stop the engine without removing the fob, all is fine, until I restart the engine. Then, the CD appears to still be playing but there's no sound. If I select another source, say radio, then switch back to CD then it unmutes and plays as normal.
This is a little embarrassing, being a sound engineer Whistle

I think I had the same problem also with the radio before a recent dealer visit. I took it in for various minor issues, and happened to mention that my satnav crashed once, taking the audio and phone system with it. They said they'd solved that by updating the firmware (always with the firmware...) for the nav/audio. Since then, no issues except this CD muting thing.
I'd suggest getting them to ensure you have the latest firmware. You'll probably end up with the same CD mute issue I have but it might solve some of your issues.
Probably not worth a special trip though perhaps?

,

Hi to all, just joined your forum, after reading various postings for a while.
My Freelander is currently in my local dealer for service, and numerious faults, this being one of them, and I have been told today that my audio system requires a new amplifier !! they also told me that I need a new windscreen as original is delaminating down A pillar an offside. Has anyone had similar ?

I have the muting problem. At first it was intermittent, it went into LR then the fault was more consistent. Took it back to LR and mechanic said new radio head unit. Its in at the moment. Out of warranty now, but fault occured while still in warranty, so being fixed under warranty.

Landrover rang today. Car ready to collect, they have just done software updates and its seems to have done the job.
