Rear facing Dashcam mouting and cable routing

Just taken delivery of my rear facing dash cam, a E-Prance A1080 1080P HD recording and all for a sum of just over £30

Looking at running cables to it, from the rear boot cig socket, area, though this is switched live, up the side to the headlining and through those rubber tubes that go to the tailgate just above the rear screen

I'm think its best location will he up top, centred as this will be in the wiper arms cleaning section for best visablity, otherwise the dirt magnet of a rear screen will block vision

I have a power magic on the front camera, would this be able to provide safe power to the rear camera also, but running a cable from front to rear or do i need a separate power magic for the rear camera

SO!!

Any comments or thoughts, location of camera, suggestions etc Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I have the same camera as you mounted where you want to put yours,it works a treat now, the only problem I had was the power cable kept coming out when I opened the boot so I just adjusted the cable a bit and now it's fine.

how did you run your cable?

I have just been looking and under the headlining there is a foam sticker leading to a hole, which the cable easily runs through, but trying to run the usb power cable through the black tubes wasn't happening just then in the cold, went in but wouldn't feed through

have you any pictures of fitting and cable run? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I recently fitted a rear one. I only ran a power cable down to the front to double up on the Power Magic Pro because I was doubling up the Rear Cam as a reversing camera and had to run a cable down to the drivers seat where my GVIF is.

Otherwise I think I would have just got another Power Magic Pro.

According to the Group Buy over on Disco 3 by Hids, two cameras, two Power Magics.

Make sure you hide the Power Magics out of the way, can easily be mistaken for Performance Enhancing Chips Confused

bought it via Amazon, via the link below with a 8GB card, it was £35

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IKEVS6I/ref=...71_TE_item

the one i bought was not GPS and the older 0801 version

for a few ££ more i would get a 0803 with GPS for a forward facing that way you have location and speed data
http://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Ambarella...rance+0803

just be careful as they sell gps and non gps and the descriptions are ver similar Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi
Want to fit a rear eprance now. Is yours the one with the sucker mount or the later one with the 3M sticker smaller mount like my front one? Also any chance of some piccies and further info on cable routing from the 12V socket in boot.
