Denmark 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey
Problem for the first time. Scratching sound.

Problem for the first time.
I heard a whistle sound that I thought came from the radio. Mute - still sound.
Next time heard it like a fan scrapes against metal. The air conditioning at OFF - still sound.
Intensive sound when turning left. Sound disappears (barely audible) when I run straight.
Today came also at the right turn, it persists even when I run straight.
Got an hour at the workshop on January 6.
I'm not so happy to run with the scratching sound. Sad
What can it be? LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq . Production Date: 11/5-2007 in Halewood.

Sorry, but I have changed to Defender 90 ", and I love my" tractor ".

Other alternatives;

Could be power steering pump itself going south, but this would be odd for such a 'young' car.

Something loose or worn wrt front CV joints ,

But more likely muck or detritus built up somewhere caused something to wear/ come loose.

A stone behind a Anchor Plate was the cause of the sound that worried me.
Thus, Land Rovers are not to blame.

The mechanic made a removal (and reinstallation) of anchor plates, and found a stone behind the plate.

I do not know Embarassed the English word for ankerplade therefore a simple translation of the Danish word. Maybe AndyC, Viking or Jimmy can help. Rolling Eyes

but Thumbs Up stormsky have probably come with the correct description.
