Just picked up my 2nd Freelander 2

Just collected my new Fl2 and joined the CG Santorini Club Thumbs Up

So happy with my last GS gone for same spec again but Auto this time - loving the relaxed drive. Now got a power socket in the boot as well so very pleased. Very Happy

Unfortunately some idiot scratched my bumper on the way home via the supermarket Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

ahh the dreaded supermarket carpark-where most scratches appear Big Cry

I'm in the lakes where I think we have more oaps than heaven it's self. for instance Booths in Kendal sells birthday cards for 1-13yrs old then 21, 30, 40 50 60 ,70, 80, 90, 100 years olds YES they actually stock birthday cards for people that are 100 years old-and this is a small/medium supermarket not a specialist card shop!!

Needless to say you have to be on the ball to keep your panels dent/scrath free around here Shocked

Not that I'm solely blaming OAPS-women cant drive/park either Rolling with laughter

Glad your enjoying life with a 2nd FL2, something I'd would have like to have done had the work's lease scheme not priced it out of existence Sad Sad Sad (as reported elsewhere - Volvo here I come!)

Regarding car park damage I'm always one for parking miles from anyone else, I will try to find a corner spot so as to restrict movement to one side of the car, look for drive through spots etc, etc. But it never ceases to amaze me that I return to the car and find someone parked next to me.

I've got evidence of car parks on all four doors Big Cry Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!
Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013.

That's why I've ordered side body-moulds for mine (car due in about a week, SG). It seems the only reason for not having the moulds is aesthetics. While important for a car, practicality comes first. Of course, the moulds won't protect against everything - eg. the wheel arches, and odd-height/shaped doors.

To Avtur -
I know what you mean about prices - 2 years ago GFV was £13840 but got £15250 p/x for it Thumbs Up GFV this time is £9728 Shocked This works in my favour for p/x but blows Lease out of water.
I also park in end spaces or miles away and somebody always parks next to me too Twisted Evil
I nearly went for Volvo XC60 but could not find one to test drive and decided to stick with LR as I have a good track record with them.

To Oakwood -
I always add side protection on my cars but this was front bumper so not much help Big Cry

Very Happy Have now recieved my invite to another LR Experience though Very Happy Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

When going to the supermarket I always look for 3 spaces and park in the middle!

Failing that I will find a 2 spacer and park with my wheels on the white line to discourage someone parking next to me - never works as some Censored always squeezes in meaning I have to breath in to squeeze back in my car!

Used to try the 'park at the end of the carpark where no one else parks' trick but it is amazing how many times I returned to my car to find several cars surrounding it!!! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

If you park in the middle of nowhere when you come back there are motors parked around you. I call it the ameaba? effect. Cannot remember the spelling from those long distance past biology lessons. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

There is also a very good spell checker add-on for Firefox if you are using that browser, as well as Firefox it will also add on to any other browsers and Hotmail/Outlook/Yahoo mail and messengers etc that you use. Unfortunately it "speaks" American rather than real English but there maybe a setting I haven't found that will correct this! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack
Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover
Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather
Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen
Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green
