Does anyone know the power draw of these units? Wondering how long it can be used while parked before it puts the battery at risk.

Hi guys, Question for anyone who already has the xtrons unit.
What's the best way to remove the breakout box that snaps into the coin holder? I just got mine and test fitted the thing and don't want to break anything prying it out.
Thanks!

Push a thin blade down back of button panel to release the two clips holding it. Be gentle though. There's rwo hooks about 15mm in from edge. Andy

Hi, hope someone can help with this.
I just installed the new PA79DLRIPL into my car which went fairly smoothly, however I'm having some issues with it.
Like others in this thread, I am unable to get the AUX bypass working, currently the sound is not going through to the speakers from the Xtrons unit. I also noticed that the rear AUX input is now also not working either, which I'm hoping is due to the adaptor that is trying to bypass it?
Also my GPS signal is basically useless in this thing, is there something I can do to improve it? It takes a while to connect to any satellite and even once it does, the connections are poor based on the GPS status screen in the settings and the speed/location data is inaccurate. I've attached the antenna to top of the middle speaker grill (no speaker installed there) so it's as close to the top as can be without being exposed. Is there a location setting I need to change or is it just a bad antenna?
Thanks for any help!

With my unit the sound from xtrons unit comes through aux input on car radio through the main connectors that put the unit between car and head unit. My aux input socket still works ok as well. I would check for loose or poor connections on the main connectors.
As for GPS, mine is ok. I have put sensor at bottom left passenger side of windscreen, avoiding heated screen element area. Andy

Make sure all your connections are fully seated. When I first plugged mine in I was only getting audio out of one speaker but fixed it after redoing the connections.

I also have my GPS and TPMS antennas in the empty middle speaker and they are both working fine.

Is it possible to install the xtrons in my freelander hse?

Mine is a MY10 hse so dont see why not. You might have issues with newer models with updated dash systems.

You will also need a MOST shunt for fibre optics to keep systems such as parking sensors working when you remove sat nav screen. Andy

Following this thread with great interest. Will get one of these soon- hopefully Xtrons will release an Android 9 head unit with 4gb RAM.

Has anyone found a way around the need to use the radio's aux input to get sound from the unit to the car speakers?

Hello All,

Sorry for the late message. The LR019014 came later then expected. I removed the orignal navi display and connected the LR019014. Now everthing works perfect.
The small speaker which comes with the Xtrons I disconnected. Main reason was that all adio goes also trought this small speaker and gives at an higher volume a lot of noise. Without this speaker everything works perfect.

With solving these small issues I really happy with the Xtrons android.

Thanks to everyone for the support.

Best regards,

Eric

Hello,

I am following this thread as I am in the same situation, I ordered the Most Adopter (LR019014) which arrived today.
but I cannot find where to plug it, it wouldnt fit any of the fibre cables, can you please help me and show me where to connect the LR019014 ?

Thank you

The MOST adapter has a little rubber or plastic cap protecting the ends of the fibres which needs to be removed first. It took me while to figure this out but it should plug in ok once it is removed.

If you look back a couple of pages in this thread I posted a picture of the most shunt with the cover still fitted next to the connector which previously plugged into the sat nav unit. remove the cover and plug the shunt onto the connector and it should work fine. Look here: https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic30709-90.html
