Front wiper FL2 2010 Lefthand drive

Hi

Anyone got some experince with repairing the wiper assembly on the front wiper ?

One of the joints loosned a while back, which caused the wiper to go past theyr normal range, outside the window and slam down in the park position. After welding it back in place I still have some issue, the wiper function normaly most of the time, but from time to time they go to wide and outside the window. Hope it is possible to understand what I am trying to say Smile

So, is it time to replace the whole assembly or is it possible to get a stable working repair ?

Yes I had that happen to my FL2 when I first got it.

Rather than mess around, I took out the old mechanism + motor, (full assembly) and for £30 I got a used part and replaced it.

2yrs later ..... still ok.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

The technical term is it is probably "shagged". Welded !

I would suggest you obtain a new unit and whatever else it needs.

They do have a Winter Park position most of us will never use in UK, is that confusing anything ? FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
