Wing mirror disassembly

Hi folks, new to FL2 but long standing member on sister sites D3/4 & Def2 - been suffering from Landroveritis for over 30 years now...

Recently bought a 2007 FL2 for SWMBO with a known broken power fold mirror. Have done a search to try & find out how to disassemble it to see what's broken, can find loads on how to remove the complete mirror assembly & also found how to remove the cover from face lift cars but can't find anything on how to remove the cover on earlier models - don't want to damage the cover of the internals can be repaired.

Anyone able to help please?

TRY THIS ..... you may find it easier to remove glass than mirror cover.???

Thanks Yorky Bob - unfortunately that's a later type version, mine has the older style with the curved edge to it.

Thanks Badger51, that seems to confirm the conclusion I came to yesterday morning while seeing if I could suss out how they could be pulled apart in the sleet & cold wind!

Now to find a replacement power fold mirror with puddle light.
