What are my legal rights?

I bought my F2 from a franchised dealer almost 2 years ago, as a 1 owner vehicle with full service history.

I have just had it in for its 4 year service, and asked if I could have a copy of its service history, which I was given.

Reading through the service history, the one year service was missed, probably as the first owner did next to no miles in his 2 years of ownership. The 2 years/24 months service was completed.

I feel a bit aggrieved, as I bought it as a full service history vehicle. What options do I have if any take back to the dealership?

Before anyone says I should have checked the service history when buying it, I had put my trust in a reputable dealer so didn't see the need.

Thoughts please. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

What outcome are you wanting? You won’t be able to reject the car obviously and it is running ok so no problems there. How do LR define a full service history? Does it have to be a service every year or x amount of miles or does it just have to be serviced at LR dealers as and when it is actually serviced? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I just feel that it should have been serviced in line with their own service recommendations. Would it have stopped me from buying it had I know that the history had a gap? I doubt it, but I would have a bargaining tool for a bit more off the price.

I may end up taking on the chin. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

Maybe best approach would be to have a rant and negotiate a discount off your next service as a goodwill gesture etc. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Think yourself lucky... my local LR dealership let me drive out the door in used approved Evoque that had been in a fairly major accident and badly repaired (damaged underside and bodywork, badly misaligned panels, bad respray, damaged transfer box and gearbox)...... and then after sorting a swap out deal let me drive out the door without an MOT in my current FL2.

And yes all necessary questions were asked before I signed on the dotted line for both cars and the LR sales guy confirmed everything was perfect.

To be Devil's advocate Twisted Evil it said a full service history, not a history of full servicing.

Although to be fair, when I advertise a car I do write just "Full History" (leaving out the "service") because I do keep all the receipts during my ownership.

I know that doesn't help your situation. Sorry. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE
