try oiling the linkage cables, under battery somewhere, get someone to fiddle with gearstick as you look around for them At work

thought I had posted a reply to this but obviously didn't. Just to say having had 1o year service done including all fluids etc, gearbox is slinky smooth with no further problems. 2007 2.2 GS Td4

I would initially say that it's a clutch problem. You say that the clutch was replaced at 70k so you have done 58k miles on it so far. Was the DMF and slave cylinder replaced at the same time?
