kit of timing belt and water pump

I have a Freelander 2 Diesel, 2.2 from 2009 model with 180.000kms and yesterday I received a notice from the LR dealer that there is a technical directive from LR advising the owners of Freelander 2 to change the kit of the timing belt and water pump after 168.000kms or 7 years. The previous bulletin advised the same thing to take place after 10years or 240.000kms. I am really confused, and I don't know what to do. Another authorised LR garage, here in Athens did not confirm this directive. However, the risk of not doing it is very high for the engine. Does anybody know anything about that?

Interesting....
Can you take a picture from the notice and post it here?
Maybe there is something between the lines that can suggest which directive they are referring...
Thank you!

Hi Alex! Unfortunately, I was told this on the phone. They didn't present to me any document. They only said that this was included on the bulletin of service instructions provided in the garage

It’s always been mentioned on here that the timing belt on the TD/SD4 is done on the 'big' 10 year/150,000 miles service. I seem to remember reading that the Discovery 3 V6 TDI 2.7 'big' service timing belt change is 7 years/or around 120,000 miles. Perhaps your dealer is confusing the TD4 with that? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Thanks Steve. I know that and I hope that this is the case, but I still have doubts.

Yes I know for a Discovery, but I have a Freelander 2.
Is there any official technical helpline of Land Rover? So, I can send a mail?
