strange clunk in rear (update)

A while ago I asked about a rather strange clunk i was getting from the rear of my fl2, it would make a loud almost bang type clunk when pulling from a junction and turninghard left or right, i would also get a clunk on changing gear, all apeared to be coming from the back and felt like it was in the subframe or a bush, the gear change clunk almost felt like slap in the prop shaft. I had the haldex serviced, no change. I had a full service at land rover, that came back with advises on the noises needing investigation, with estimates running into the thousands eeek
Anyway, yesterday I decided to put on the winter wheels that i had bought off these forums, 1 inch smaller with vredesteins on. Out for a 10 mile test drive and all noises have gone TOTALY !!
i thinki will check the rolling circumferances of all the tyres i took off!

I once had a noise, just as you are describing, turned out to be a loose wheel nut. Only one of the five nuts was loose, by loose I mean didn't seem to be tightened to the correct torque, easier to remove than the other four. After removing the wheel and inspecting the hub and suspension, I simply replaced the wheel and torqued up the nuts ........ noise disappeared.

I would have hoped that during the service the wheels would have been off for propper brake inspection!
But i must admit all the wheel nuts while not loose where all very easy to undo, no swinging on a bar
