Not sure if right section to be posted in but I hope you can help

I have a 2013 freelander2 and it has just developed a dull thump when pulling away with wheels turned (i.e. Turning left or right out of a junction) think it's coming from the rear of the vehicle, only started today. Doesn't seem to do it when driving normally only when setting off.

Don't know if it's related to it but when I turn at low speeds I do get a bit of tyre squeal even if I'm turning at walking pace but that might just be the type of tyre as that's been happening of a couple of months.

Does any one have any idea on the dull thump noise before I take in to a garage as I'd rather know what I could possibly be dealing with before.

A series of thumps or just one ? Several is possibly Haldex working and may benefit from a service of the 2 filters (one throwaway) and fresh oil. Worth doing once at 40K and above anyway in my opinion but a LR dealer will fleece you to do it. Check you tyre pressures first though. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Could also be the front bevel gear (IRD?) drive or it's coupling to the gearbox.
If it fails completely you would end up with front wheel drive - and lots of tyre squeal.

I had a thump from the back end of my Evoque, even LR Assist thought it might be the suspension or bearing but when it went to the garage it turned out be a knackered transfer box which was replaced under warranty along with the gearbox.
Mine was most likely caused by it being in accident prior to me getting it, and the transfer box seals going as a result.
