Just checked my air filter and was amazed at how dirty it was, in fact i'm so concerned that I will be ordering a new one when in for new heater this friday. I've had my first service but air filter must not be part of replace items, and i've only done 16000 miles. Been told from a mechanic mate that a dirty filter can have a big impact on MPG so guys its worth a quick check. GS TD4 Stornoway Grey |

Changed mine at 13k because it was clogged with dirt (whoosing sound alerted me to problem) then changed it again a couple of months ago when it was soaked during the floods-like NP says less than a tenner.

I hit a flood/puddle at some speed and was up to my ankles in water, water forced its way up through the peddles-the car refused to start for 36 hours after that.
