I've done some Google research already and emailed a couple of coin dealers but thought it was worth mentioning on here also. We have a couple of gold sovereigns, one from 1968 and one from 1894 which features Queen Victoria.

A metal detectorist found 2 coins in my field, they were handed in to the coroner and actioned , the Britsh musuem bought them for �160, I got �80 so invested in a tower of London poppy.

In practice, I'd keep your expectations low - I doubt you'll get anything like �350. Unless they are rare or in mint condition, I think most sovereigns just go as bullion, and dealers will take a cut, so you'd get a bit under the scrap value - which is currently around �230 each. |
